JSA Appoints Practice Area Co Chairs Across Corporate, Disputes and Finance Practices

JSA Advocates and Solicitors (JSA), amongst India's leading law firms, has announced the appointment of Practice Area (PA) Co-Chairs of its primary Practice Areas Corporate, Disputes & Finance. The Co-Chairs have been elected for a tenure of three years, by the Partnership. As on date, the JSA has over 180 Partners, including 69 Equity Partners.

Following the Firm's internal elections:

The Corporate Practice Equity Partners have re-elected Probir Roy Choudhury and Sidharrth Shankar as PA Co-Chairs.

The Disputes Practice Equity Partners have re-elected Dheeraj Nair and Farid Karanchiwala as PA Co-Chairs.

The Finance Practice Equity Partners have re-elected Anish Mashruwala and Madhurima Saha Mukherjee as PA Co-Chairs.

In keeping with JSA's unique collegium driven governance model, the PA Co-Chairs are elected by the Equity Partners of the respective Practice Areas, ensuring leadership continuity, collective ownership and alignment with the Firm's long-term strategic direction.

Under JSA's structured management model, the Practice Area Co-Chairs work closely with the Firm's leadership, comprising an elected Executive Committee (ExCom), which includes the Joint Managing Partners, to align Firm-wide and Practice-specific priorities, support the implementation of best practices, drive business development initiatives, nurture talent, and strengthen integration across the Firm.

Probir Roy Choudhury

Probir Roy Choudhury is a Partner at JSA and Co-Chair of the Corporate Practice. His work focuses on technology led corporate transactions, including private equity, venture capital, fintech and data protection

matters. Probir regularly advises clients on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, transaction structuring and regulatory issues, particularly in high growth and innovation driven sectors.

Sidharrth Shankar

Sidharrth (Sid) Shankar is a Partner and Co-Chair of JSA's Corporate Practice, with a core focus on private equity, mergers & acquisitions and cross border investments. He advises global private equity funds,

multinational corporations and strategic investors across sectors including life sciences, financial services, insurance, consumer and technology, and is widely recognised for his transactional depth and commercial insight.

Dheeraj Nair

Dheeraj Nair is a Partner at JSA and Co-Chair of the Disputes Practice. He has over two decades of experience advising clients on complex commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration and regulatory

proceedings. An Advocate on Record of the Supreme Court of India, he is known for his strategic handling of high value and multijurisdictional disputes.

Farid Karanchiwala

Farid Karanchiwala is a Partner at JSA and Co-Chair of the Disputes Practice. Based in Mumbai, he specialises in corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration, banking litigation and real estate related disputes. An Advocate

on Record of the Supreme Court of India, Farid regularly appears before courts and tribunals across India and advises a wide range of domestic and international clients.

Madhurima Saha Mukherjee

Madhurima Saha Mukherjee is a Partner at JSA and Co-Chair of the Finance Practice, heading the firm's Capital Markets division. With over 20 years of experience, she has led several of India's landmark capital markets

Anish Mashruwala
