The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched the 'Samajh Se Investing Simple' investor awareness campaign and the 'Mentoring of University/College Students by Trainers (MUST)' initiative under Project Jagrook, aimed at strengthening financial literacy and promoting informed investment practices.

The campaign was launched at Panjab University, Chandigarh, as part of World Investor Week 2026, being observed in India from October 5 to 11, 2026 on the theme 'Samajh Se Investing Simple'.

Project Jagrook, a nationwide initiative, seeks to promote financial literacy, informed investing and prevention of financial fraud through physical and digital channels and in multiple languages.

SEBI is implementing it in collaboration with Securities Market Partners including National Institute of Securities Market (NISM), Stock Exchanges, Depositories and Association of Mutual Funds in India.

The 'Samajh Se Investing Simple' campaign seeks to help investors understand various investment products, their risks and features, while encouraging them to verify the authenticity of investment platforms and payment requests before making investment decisions.

Under the MUST initiative, faculty members, staff and senior students will be trained and certified by SEBI, Securities Market Partners and NISM as Partner Trainers. They will impart basic financial literacy, informed investing practices and awareness about prevention of financial fraud. SEBI is also collaborating with the Association of Indian Universities to facilitate wider adoption of Project Jagrook and MUST.

SEBI has also announced its official WhatsApp Channel to disseminate investor awareness information and resources. The channel will carry a verified blue tick to enable users to identify the authentic account of SEBI.
