SEBI Directs Stock Brokers To Display Investor Awareness Messages On Websites, Trading Apps
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has directed stock brokers to display investor awareness messages on their websites and trading applications as part of its Project Jagrook, aimed at promoting investor safety and awareness.
Under the circular issued on October 1, 2026, SEBI said that stock brokers must display the investor awareness messages provided by it on their websites and trading apps in the manner specified.
For websites, brokers must display the investor awareness messages along with the existing risk disclosures from October 5 to October 31, 2026. From November 1, the awareness messages must be displayed on the landing page of the broker's website.
For trading apps, displaying the messages will be voluntary between October 5 and October 31. However, from November 1, brokers will have to display both the investor awareness messages and risk disclosures on alternate days, with the awareness messages appearing on the app's landing page.
SEBI further stated that the investor awareness messages may be modified from time to time.
Stock exchanges and depositories have also been directed to communicate the requirements to their members and participants and display the investor awareness messages on their websites.
