Delhi High Court Restrains Nine Rogue Websites From Streaming Ajay Devgn-Starrer 'Drishyam: The Conclusion'
The Delhi High Court has recently granted an ad interim ex parte injunction to Digital18 Media Private Limited, which holds exclusive rights in the Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam: The Conclusion.
The Court restrained nine websites from hosting, streaming or making the film available online without authorisation.
Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav also directed domain registrars and the government to block the sites and to act against fresh piracy of the film.
Digital18 Media, which holds rights in the film, sued websites including ssrmovies.style, Cinevood.date, Skymovieshd.lgbt, Bollytan.com and Vegamoviess.io, along with unknown "John Doe" operators.
It said these sites have a track record of piracy, including of its film "Jolly LLB 3". Its investigators had found the sites accessible in Delhi and carrying infringing copies of that film. With "Drishyam: The Conclusion" due for release on 02.10.2026, it said it had a "reasonable and imminent apprehension" that the film would be streamed on the sites and watched in Delhi.
The Court was satisfied that Digital18 Media had made out a case for interim relief.
"The nature of the injury, which the plaintiff may likely to suffer, may not be remedied in terms of money. The balance of convenience and prima facie case also lie in favour of the plaintiff," it said.
It restrained the nine websites, and anyone acting for them, from communicating, hosting, streaming or making the film available for viewing or downloading without authorisation. Domain registrars and other defendants (Nos. 12 to 29) must suspend, block, disable or deactivate the concerned domain names within 72 hours of receiving the plaintiff's notice with evidence.
If Digital18 Media finds piracy of the film on other websites, it may inform registrars, internet service providers and the concerned government department, who must ensure action is taken.
Summons were issued, with written statements due in 30 days.
The suit goes before the Joint Registrar on October 27, 2026, and the injunction application will be heard next on December 03, 2026.
