What the Course Covers

Across its ten sessions, the course moves through the full arc of an M&A transaction — starting with company law fundamentals and the reasoning behind deal-making, then into fundraising and company lifecycle, the due diligence process, and core company documentation like the AoA and MoA. From there, it turns to transaction documents themselves (term sheets, share purchase and shareholders' agreements), public M&A and the Takeover Code, private equity basics, and the competition law questions that come up when the Competition Commission of India gets involved.

Who's Teaching It

The course is led by Ashirbad Nayak, a Senior Associate in the Public Policy team at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where his work spans technology law, financial law, and policy mandates for domestic and international clients. His background includes general corporate practice at J. Sagar Associates and a stint teaching M&A and securities regulation at Jindal Global University. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, completed on a full scholarship, and graduated among the top of his batch from the National Law University Odisha with two gold medals.
