SEBI Signs MoU With RRU, NISM For Cybersecurity Training And Securities Market Innovation
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on 24 August signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) to collaborate on capacity building, research, education, training, policy support, institutional cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Under the MoU, the three institutions will jointly conduct training programmes, workshops, certification courses, executive education programmes and awareness initiatives for government officials, regulators, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, securities market participants, academic and research communities and the general public.
The collaboration will cover domain-based training in secure software development, coding practices, application programming interface (API) security, cybersecurity exercises, Security Operations Centre operations, vulnerability management, Red Team-Blue Team exercises and Live Fire Drills. Training will also cover Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing and other emerging technologies.
The MoU also provides for degree, diploma and certification programmes for industry professionals, SEBI-regulated entities and prospective professionals. It envisages creating a knowledge repository of capital market courses and a directory of trained professionals.
The collaboration further provides for research and academic cooperation and seeks to strengthen securities market intelligence through Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) technologies and techniques pioneered by RRU. It also proposes establishing a Technical Innovation Unit as a Command Centre for the securities market to support joint operations, research and innovation.
