SAT Launches E-Filing Portal; Fresh Appeals, Documents To Be Filed Online From August 3

Update: 2026-08-03 06:28 GMT

The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), Mumbai, has officially launched its e-filing portal for advocates and litigants.

Beginning August 3, 2026, fresh appeals and all other judicial documents must be filed through the portal after users complete registration and obtain the tribunal's approval.

A notice issued by the tribunal on July 31 states that new users must first register on the portal before they can file an appeal or any other document. Once approved by SAT, they can begin filing appeals and other judicial documents electronically. Appearance for appeals listed in the daily cause list must also be marked through the e-filing portal.

The tribunal has directed that fresh appeals, affidavits in reply, affidavits in rejoinder, written submissions, and all other judicial documents be filed before its registry through the e-filing portal.

After a filing is completed, the system will generate a copy of the filing receipt along with the link to the appeal, application, or document. Both must be emailed to sat-filing@gov.in, with a copy marked to registrar-sat@nic.in.

The notice also prescribes the technical requirements for e-filing. Documents must be scanned only in black and white or grayscale, and a single PDF document cannot exceed 250 pages.

The portal will remain open on all working days until 4:30 pm and will remain closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. A user manual for registration of new users and e-filing of appeals has also been made available on the portal.
