NCLAT Transfers Judicial Member Justice N Seshasayee To Chennai Bench In Public Interest
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Monday transferred Judicial Member Justice N. Seshasayee from its Principal Bench in New Delhi to the Chennai Bench in public interest.
An order issued by NCLAT Chairperson directed Justice Seshasayee to join the Chennai Bench within three weeks.
"In view of the administrative requirement in public interest, Justice Shri N. Seshasayee, Judicial Member, Principal Bench of NCLAT at New Delhi is hereby ordered to be transferred to Chennai Bench of NCLAT at Chennai. The Hon'ble Judicial Member may join the NCLAT Chennai Bench within three weeks," the order states.
The order also states that Justice Seshasayee will be entitled to all allowances and benefits admissible under the applicable rules.
Justice Seshasayee was appointed as a Judicial Member of the NCLAT on May 23, 2025, after retiring as a judge of the Madras High Court in January 2025.
Born on January 8, 1963, Justice Seshasayee graduated in Economics from Scott Christian College, Nagercoil, and obtained his law degree from Madras Law College in 1986. He enrolled as an advocate the same year.
He joined the judicial service as a Direct District Judge in 2004 and served as Registrar (Judicial) of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court between 2009 and 2011. He was appointed an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court on November 16, 2016, became a Permanent Judge on November 2, 2018, and retired in January 2025.
