Centre Extends Tenure Of SAT Technical Member Meera Swarup Till September 8, 2026
The Central Government on Wednesday extended the tenure of Meera Swarup as Technical Member of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) till September 8, 2026.
Swarup, who was appointed to the tribunal in February 2022, was due to demit her office on March 9, 2026. The latest notification extends her tenure for a further period of six months.
The extension was notified by the Ministry of Finance in exercise of powers under the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021, and the Tribunal (Conditions of Service) Rules of 2021.
A 1998-batch Indian Audit & Accounts Service officer, Swarup previously served as Special Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Finance Ministry for nearly 7 years and also led the evaluation committee overseeing the strategic disinvestment of public sector companies, including Air India.
