SEBI Issues Master Circulars For Investment Advisors, Research Analysts And RTAs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) recently issued three separate master circulars for Investment Advisers, Research Analysts and Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents (RTAs), consolidating all applicable directions and guidelines for these intermediaries into single reference documents.

SEBI said the master circulars have been issued to enable regulated entities and market participants to access all operative instructions at one place. With the issuance of the master circulars, the earlier circulars listed in the appendices stand rescinded to the extent they relate to the respective intermediaries. However, actions taken, rights accrued, liabilities incurred, and proceedings initiated under the rescinded circulars will continue to remain valid.
