The Competition Commission of India on Friday approved the proposed merger of Sapphire Foods India Limited with and into Devyani International Limited, along with certain related transactions.
Devyani International operates KFC and Pizza Hut franchise outlets across India. It is also the exclusive franchisee of Costa Coffee, New York Fries and Sanook Kitchen in the country. In addition, the company owns and operates several homegrown brands.
Sapphire Foods also operates KFC and Pizza Hut franchise outlets in India.
The Commission stated that a detailed order would follow.
